Gamco Educational Materials, a subsidiary of Siboney Corporation, proudly announces the release of Perimeter, Area, and Volume - Paws and Pyramids. Ideal for grade 5-8, this Egyptian adventure builds perimeter, area, volume, and surface area skills.
The scene is set in the land of Catopia where the evil Queen has devised a deceptive concoction that turns all the cats blue. The formula lies scattered throughout the Queen's pyramid. The heroic student cat can capture trhe formula piece by piece by correctly answering perimeter, area, volume and surface area problems.
Students build geometry skill while using thinking strategies to discover the correct antidote. Teachers may allow students to access a formula reference for each of the 22 differentr skill levels. Word problems can be included with every skill.
At the end of the game, students see a report of their progress. This report is alos written to the management system where the teacher can view or print it. The printed reports can be used in portfolio assessment, as reports to be sent home to parents, or for grading. The management system stores up to 100 records for each of 500 students. The date a student plays, the skills worked, the raw score, and the percent correct are automatically recorded.
