There are 5 main Levels of pull down
menus in this site if the user's browser is using javascripts.
These can be directly selected with mouse click or keystroke. The letter underlined
is the key to press.
The top level can also be selected by graphics at the bottom of the home page
as well as the text only menu
available at the bottom of every page. Navigational links appear at the top
of each page for easy access
to this menu, searching, and a text only site.
Pull Down (javascript) Menus can
be accessed by simply moving the mouse over a link.
When sub categories for a link exist they will usually cause a sub menu to appear.
The user can then simply move the mouse to the subcategory to choose the item
of interest.
The user can also always click directly on any category without choosing the
submenu link.
Using this system of access, the user can get to any page of this site with
only a click of the mouse.
This site can be accessed using the
tab key (option tab on macintosh) to tab from link to link,
and then pressing Enter key to select the current link. This method is handy
for switch users, and
users using speech output devices to quickly jump through the site. The "tabindex"
function is used
in the TRE Center site to help arrange the tab strokes in an orderly fashion
for the user.
Text (Only) Version - This option
is a large print black on white format page of the entire site.
This is not recomended for normal use since it can be difficult to find information
for most users.
It can however be useful for visually impaired users.
Text Only Menu - This appears at the bottom of every page on the site for a quick way to navigate for users who are not using javascripts in their browsers or prefer not to use a mouse driven interface. This can get the user to the top 5 level screens quickly. From here, you come to text based screen for level chosen for quick access to the link you need. The menu consists of these items: Text ONLY MENU | HOME (the TRE home page)| TRE CENTER (this menu concerns things about the TRE Center) | SEARCH (a page to search the TRE site or the internet using google) | DISCUSSIONS (menu for discussion areas, listserves, contact info) | PUBLICATIONS (menu of items that are in written published form concerning AT and UDL such as newsletters, laws, guides) | RESOURCES ( a menu of various AT & UDL resources available outside of TRE These items are in different categories such as area or disability ) | PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT (a hub of AT training, and conference opportunities here including distance learning)

Accessible by the highest standards on the internet.
